TOPICS
The Historical Basis of the Christian Faith - Friday
In popular media the Bible is often presented as mere fiction. Many times Christians do not know how to respond. In this session Dr. Williams and Dr. Jongkind will look at specific ancient texts which talk about the origins of Christianity and which show how the New Testament fits into the ancient world of the time. The best way to explain the evidence is that the New Testament really is reporting true history.
Responding To Attacks on the Scriptures - Saturday
Recent years have seen a rise in attacks on the scriptures and even Christians are sometimes won over by these objections. In four sessions we look at some of the most common attacks:
- Moral objections to the Old Testament (Williams)
- Do we have the right books (Jongkind)
- Can we trust Bible history? (Williams)
- Has the text of the Bible been changed?
