What do I do after someone gives their life to Christ?

We are called to make disciples (life-long followers of Jesus) and not just converts. New believers should be encouraged to grow in their faith by joining a church family, reading the Bible daily (our reading plans and journals can help with this), praying regularly, and sharing the Gospel with others.

The best and most natural thing to do after helping someone to faith in Christ is to maintain an ongoing relationship with them so you can encourage them, answer their questions, and help them foster habits that will allow them to mature as a Christian.

Anchor Groups are a good way to facilitate this kind of one-to-one or small group discipleship. Barna Research studies indicate that most Christians stop growing after just two years. If a more mature Christian walks alongside of someone for that long, they would both be more likely to grow and continue growing.
