What do I do if someone says, "I'm ready to give my life to Christ?"
If someone tells you that they are ready to give their life to Christ, help them verbalize their belief and trust in Jesus by leading them in a prayer like the following:
Father God, I need you in my life. I believe you sent your son, Jesus, to die for my sins and then raised him from the dead. I have sinned and I am truly sorry. Please forgive me. I receive your gifts of forgiveness and eternal life. I surrender my life to you and give you full control. Send your Holy Spirit to help me serve you from now on. Thank you for welcoming me into your family and giving me a new start. In the name of Jesus, amen.
The exact words don't matter. What is important is that the words reflect a true desire to turn from sin, to follow Jesus as Lord, and to trust the crucified and risen Jesus alone for forgiveness and salvation.
