Grace Chapel Youth Ministries exists for the purpose of building relevant student ministers. That means reaching out with passion and compassion to build relationships with, and disciple, both believing and unchurched youth. It is providing the skills and the opportunity to minister God's love and grace in a relevant way to those who know Him and those who will.
Pastor Cameron
Cameron Martin is the Youth Pastor here at Grace Chapel. He mentioned when starting out in youth ministry that he had stumbled onto a quote by a Winston Churchill quote that said "I feel as if I am walking with destiny, and that all my past life has been but a preparation for this hour". That preparation includes almost a decade of experience in musical-theatre, over two years of stand-up comedy and another two plus years in radio. Although he has only come to full-time ministry recently, other pastors comment that he looks like he has been doing it for years. He and his wife Sharri, a full-time hair stylist, are totally committed to the youth of Grace Chapel as well as the valley.
Cameron says, "There are studies that say 'three out of every four teens graduate from their faith and their church when they graduate from High School.' If a teen spends a few years in this ministry but simply drops it all the moment they encounter their first real freedom, we've all wasted our time and I have failed them. I believe it's a 'Book of James' sort of thing. If their faith isn't accompanied by deeds, it's dead. That why our mission statement is 'Building Relevant Student Ministers'. We must equip them and give them the opportunity to express their faith in action as early as possible. We are in the middle of the largest generation in the history of the United States. The Baby Boomers at their peak numbered 75 million. This generation, who oldest members are just graduating college and youngest are just entering Jr. High School, are 80 million strong. They account for one of every three people in the U.S. right now and are positioned to have an undeniable affect on the future of this country and the world. Talk about 'Such a time as this.' this is a providential time in youth ministry. That's why I'm here."
